PRESCRIPTION OF SALARIES (AMENDMENT) ACT 2013

AN ACT TO AMEND THE PRESCRIPTION OF SALARIES ACT TO CLEARLY PRESCRIBE SCHEDULE 1 BENEFITS AS STATUTORY EXPENDITURE AND SCHEDULE 2 BENEFITS AS APPROPRIATED EXPENDITURE

Commencement 24th December, 2013

1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Prescription of Salaries (Amendment) Act 2013.

2 Amendment to the Prescription of Salaries Act
(1) Section 3 of the Prescription of Salaries Act is amended as follows:

(a) insert a new subsection (3) as follows:

"(3) The allowances and privileges prescribed in respect of any office by virtue of Schedule 2 of the Act shall be paid only if sufficient funds are appropriated for or otherwise available to cover the expenditure."

(b) renumber section 3 as section 4.

(2) Section 4 of the Prescription of Salaries Act is amended as follows:

(a) insert the words "Schedule 1 of" between the words "of" and "this Act" in the first line of the section text.

(b) renumber section 4 as section 3.
