STATE CHURCH (DECLARATION) ACT

AN ACT TO DECLARE THE EKALESIA A KELISIANO TUVALU AS THE STATE CHURCH OF TUVALU^[1]

Commencement [1st April, 1993]^[2]

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the State Church (Declaration) Act.

2 State Church

(1) The Ekalesia Kelisiano Tuvalu is hereby declared to be the State Church of Tuvalu.

(2) The State Church, on request by the Minister, shall have the privilege of performing special services on major national events.

(3) Subject to subsection (2) of this section, the State Church shall have the same powers, rights and privileges normally enjoyed by any other religious body under any other law.
