PERSONS ENTITLED TO ENTER TUVALU WITHOUT PERMIT ORDER

MADE UNDER SECTION 7(1)(I) OF THE IMMIGRATION ACT1
Commencement [1st January 2006]
1 Short title
This Order may be cited as the Persons Entitled to Enter Tuvalu without Permit Order.
2 Application
Any person, who has a genuine link to Tuvalu by way of descendant, marriage or adoption, (the burden of proof upon that person) is entitled to enter and reside in Tuvalu without having obtained a permit required under the Immigration Act on the following condition —
(a) Such person must pay the required visitors permit and where such person intends to stay, and before the expiration of the visitors permit, that person must lodge an application and furnish to the satisfaction of the Principal Immigration Officer the following information:
- (i) Passport particulars;
- (ii) Proof of connection to Tuvalu;
- (iii) Duration of intended stay;
- (iv) Official receipt of the payment of the visitors permit.
- (b) The Principal Immigration Officer if satisfied shall grant that person a period of stay up to one year in the first instance and extension on yearly basis on application.
- (c) Persons under this category shall not be engaged in paid employment.
