ARRANGEMENT OF SECTION.

Allowances for Prime Minister, etc. (Amendment of Section 11).

AN ACT

entitled

Salaries and Remuneration Commission (Amendment) Act 2022,

Being an Act to amend the Salaries and Remuneration Commission Act 1988,

MADE by the National Parliament.

ALLOWANCES FOR PRIME MINISTER, ETC. (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 11).

Section 11 of the Principal Act is amended -

(a) in Subsection (1) by inserting, after Paragraph (j), the following new paragraphs:

• "(ja) a former Speaker of Parliament; and
• (jb) a former Chief Justice; and"; and

(b) by inserting, after Subsection (2), the following new subsection:

• "(3) Additional salaries, allowances and other benefits (financial or otherwise) fixed in relation to an office specified in Subsection (1) shall be reckoned from and including the day the respective -
  • (a) former Prime Minister; or
  • (b) former Speaker of the Parliament; or
  • (c) former Chief Justice,
• ceased to be a holder of that office and are payable whilst he is alive.".
