AN ACT

entitled

Electricity Industry (Amendment) Act 2022,

Being an Act to amend the Electricity Industry Act (Chapter 78), and for related purposes,

MADE by the National Parliament.

1. REPEAL OF THE ELECTRICITY INDUSTRY (AMENDMENT) ACT 2021.

The Electricity Industry (Amendment) Act 2021 is repealed.

2. INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 1).

Section 1 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting the following new definitions in alphabetical order:

""Economic Regulator" means the National Energy Authority designated by the National Energy Authority Act 2021 to perform the electricity industry economic regulator functions;
"economic regulatory function" means the functions of the economic aspects of industry regulation, including tariff and other functions of the National Energy Authority as governed under the National Energy Authority Act 2021;
"regulator" means the National Energy Authority designated by the National Energy Authority Act 2021 to perform economic regulatory functions relating to the electricity industry;".

3. REPEAL OF VARIOUS SECTIONS.

Sections 24A, 25 to 27 inclusive, 31A to 43C inclusive and 47 to 60 inclusive, are repealed.
