ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS.

Maritime College (Levy) Regulation 1983

MADE under the Maritime College Act 1976.

1. SHIPOWNERS.

Subject to Section 2, for the purposes of Section 22 of the Act and this Regulation “shipowner” means the owner of any vessel (including Government ships) registered under Part III of the Merchant Shipping Act 1975.

2. EXEMPTIONS.

The State is exempted from payment of the levy in respect of the M.V. Sepura and the M.V. Tapini.

3. PAYMENT OF LEVY.

The amount of levy as fixed under Section 22(1) of the Act is payable by a shipowner at the same time as the fee for registering the ship under Part III of the Merchant Shipping Act 1975.
