ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS.
Electricity Supply (Government Power Stations) Regulation
MADE under the Electricity Supply (Government Power Stations) Act.

. CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY OF ELECTRICITY.
(1) Subject to this section, and unless otherwise prescribed, the Electricity Commission (Conditions of Supply) By-laws, as amended from time to time (other than Section 9 and Schedule 2), with the necessary modifications, apply to the supply of electricity under the Act, and the reference in those by-laws to the Papua New Guinea Electricity Commission shall be read as references to the Minister.
(2) The rates for electricity supply by the Minister under the Act are the rates specified in the Schedule.
(3) The Minister may, if he thinks fit, install devices in an installation to limit the load that the installation can draw from the Government mains.
(4) The Minister may, by notice in the National Gazette, restrict the hours during which electricity is supplied to any consumer, or to consumers in any area, specified in the notice.
SCHEDULE 1 – RATES.

PART 1 – TARIFF ZONES.
In this Schedule, a reference to a Tariff Zone, by number, is a reference to an area declared by the Minister, by notice in the National Gazette, to be the Tariff Zone, so numbered for the purposes of this Schedule.
PART 2 – DOMESTIC RATES.
This tariff is applicable to electricity supplied to premises used solely for domestic purposes and consisting of a single dwelling house, or a single home unit in the case of a multiple dwelling house, to which a separate supply is given.

Note 1 In relation to these charges, a home unit is a portion of a building that, in the opinion of the Minister, has been set aside for the exclusive use of one family or group of people.
Note 2 In the case of multiple dwelling-houses, the home units that were not provided with separately metered supply on 1 August 1971 (being the date of commencement of the pre-Independence Electricity Supply (Administration Power Stations) Regulations 1971), the number of kilowatt hours chargeable under each of the first, second and third blocks is determined by multiplying the figures of 10, 30 and 150 respectively by the number of home units.
Note 3 For the purposes of these charges, facilities provided for the common use of the occupants of a multiple dwelling-house, such as stairways, passageways and outdoor lighting, lifts, common laundries, etc., shall be taken as consisting of a single home unit.
Note 4 In the case of a multiple dwelling to which the supply is unmetered, a separate account shall be rendered in respect of each home unit, including facilities provided for common use as described in Note 3.

PART 4 – PREPAYMENT METER RATE.
Rate for electricity supplied to an installation to which a prepayment meter is connected–per kWh–K0.1.
PART 5 – TEMPORARY SUPPLY RATE.
Where a temporary supply is made available the following charges apply, in addition to the General Supply Tariff:–
(a) where supply does not require an extension from the Government main of more than 22.86m a charge of K20.00 and a minimum charge of K5.00 per month in respect of electricity used; and
(b) in all other cases–a charge estimated as being equal to the total cost of installing the supply and removing the works on completion of supply and a minimum charge of K5.00 per month in respect of electricity used.
