ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS.
Cemeteries (Port Moresby Cemetery) By-laws 1972
MADE under the Cemeteries Act 1955.
In these By-laws, unless the contrary intention appears–
“the Port Moresby Cemetery” means the land reserved from sale or lease as a place for the internment of the dead by notice dated 30 January 1969 and published in the Territory of Papua and New Guinea Government Gazette No. 10 of 13 February 1969;
“the Port Moresby Cemetery Authority” means the cemetery authority appointed by notice dated 16 April 1969 and published in the Territory of Papua and New Guinea Government Gazette No. 23 of 24 April 1969 to be the cemetery authority for the Port Moresby Cemetery.
(1) A person shall not, except with the approval of the Port Moresby Cemetery Authority–
(a) erect a monument; or
(b) inscribe an inscription, or cause or permit an inscription to be inscribed, on a monument erected or to be erected,
in the Port Moresby Cemetery.
(2) A monument in the Port Moresby Cemetery shall not, unless otherwise authorized by the Port Moresby Cemetery Authority, exceed 1,066.8 mm in length, 152.4 mm in width and 1,219.20 mm in height.
