Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Parliamentary Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act 2016.

2 Commencement

This Act commences upon certification by the Speaker.

3 Amendment of Parliamentary Salaries and Allowances Act 2008

The Parliamentary Salaries and Allowances Act 2008 is amended by the provisions of this Act.

4 Amendment of section 5

Section 5 is amended by inserting the words 'Assistant Ministers' after the words 'Ministers of Cabinet' and before the words 'and the President'.

5 Amendment of section 7

Section 7 is amended by inserting the words 'Assistant Ministers' after the words 'Ministers of Cabinet' and before the words 'and the President'.

6 Amendment of section 7A

Section 7A(1) is amended by inserting the words 'Assistant Ministers' after the words 'Ministers of Cabinet' and before the words 'and the President'.

7 Amendment of Schedule

The Schedule to the Act is amended as follows:

Omit the current Schedule and substitute with the new Schedule:-
