AN ACT TO AMEND THE PUBLIC UTILITIES ORDINANCE (Cap. 83)

MADE by the Maneaba ni Maungatabu and assented to by the Beretitenti
1. Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Public Utilities (Amendment) Act 2010.
2. Insertion of a new section 6(1)A
The Public Utilities Ordinance is amended by inserting after section 6 (1) a new subsection (1)A as follows:
"6(1)A. Subsection (1) does not apply to electricity generated, transformed, transmitted, or distributed by solar power."

PUBLIC UTILITIES (AMENDMENT) ACT 2010
EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
The object of this Act is to restrict the exclusive right of the Public Utilities Board to supply electricity in any electricity supply
area granted under section 6(1) of the Public utilities Ordinance by excluding electricity generated or transmitted by solar power
from its application.
