MADE by the Maneaba ni Maungatabu and assented to by the Beretitenti

Short Title

  1. This Act may be cited as the Native Lands(Amendment) Act 2015.

Amendment of section 17

  1. (1) Section 17 of the Native Lands Ordinance (Cap 61) is amended by repealing the words “unless specifically stated to the contrary”

Explanatory Memorandum


The Act prohibits a provision in a lease agreement which precludes the right of the lessor (landowners) to give or refuse consent for a subletting of the land comprised in the lease or sublease
