AN ACT TO AMEND THE INSURANCE ACT (CAP. 45A)

Commencement:
1997

MADE by the Maneaba ni Maungatabu and assented to by the Beretitenti.

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Insurance (Amendment) Act 1997.

Amendment of Section 26

2. Section 26 of the Insurance Act (Cap. 45A) is hereby amended by:

(a) deleting from subsection (2) the following words:

", acting on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission,"; and

(b) deleting from subsection (3) the following words:

", acting on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission,".

THE INSURANCE (AMENDMENT) ACT 1997

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM

The Act amends the Insurance Act (Cap. 45A) so that the Public Service Commission will no longer be required to make recommendations regarding employees of the Authority.
