Commerce (Control Of Prices For Reinforcement
Steel Rods) (Amendment) Order 2009

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 32 of the Commerce Act (Cap 50) of 1998 and on the recommendation of the Commission, I make this Order —

Citation and Commencement

1.-(1) This Order maybe cited as the Commerce (Control of Prices for Reinforcement Steel Rods) (Amendments) Order 2009.

(2) The Commerce (Control of Prices Reinforcement Steel Rods) Order 2007 shall be referred to as "Principal Order".

Paragraph 1 amended

2. Paragraph 1 of the Principal Order is amended by deleting "and expires on the 28th day of February 2010" and substituting "and expires on the 11th day of November 2012 unless this Order is varied, extended or earlier revoked."

Paragraph 2 amended

3. Paragraph 2 of the Principal Order is revoked and replaced —

"2. For the purpose of section 32 of the Act, the prices for reinforcement steel rods (in all qualities and classes) that are sold in the market are controlled in the following grades —

(a) grade 300 deformed;

(b) grade 300 plain;

(c) grade 430 deformed;

(d) grade 430 plain;

(e) grade 500 plain; and;

(f) grade 500 deformed"

New Paragraph inserted

4. The Principal Order is amended by inserting a new paragraph —

"3. For the purpose of this Order " "market" means the sale and purchase of reinforcement steel rods through wholesale in Fiji"
