"proper" context for the jury At first glance, the videotape seemed
to speak for itself and demonstrated the officers' guilt beyond
a reasonable doubt To buttress this, the prosecution produced as
an expert witness in the use of force the very man who wrote the
training manual outlining the appropriate use of force This expert
stated that the force used in the video was excessive and beyond
the bounds of that set out in the training manual However, a defence
expert witness was brought in to deconstruct the videotape and
show the judge and jury what he, as an expert, could "see"
