Principles regarding the interpretation of contracts are well settled in our law and it is unnecessary to recite them again The same approach applies in considering the ambit of an arbitration agreement A court must ascertain what the parties intended by having regard to the purpose of their agreement, and interpret it contextually so as to give it a commercially sensible meaning     1
